Baby Gift Ideas

Babies, babies, babies!
I'm in the time of life when there are lots of baby showers to go to.
Friends, family, strangers - everyone is having babies!

My sister and my sister-in-law just had babies, like two weeks apart.
I think.
Time is all swirly right now.
So now I have two cute new nephews that are TOO far away.
So I sent my sisters baby shower care packages.

I'm always on the look out for fun baby gifts.
Things mamas will use.
Things they won't find on the aisles of Target.

One thing my sisters got in their care packages were car seat canopies.

(this is the canopy I made for another sister-in-law)

These are the canopies I made this time.
My sister-in-law wanted brown and blue with polka dots.

My sister wanted a damask.

Next I made nursing covers.
My poor boy forced to be my model.

And finally,
one of my favorite items,
the diaper and wipee case.
This is a new design on an old favorite.

What are your favorite baby gifts to give?

Very nice! Are you sharing patterns for these (or did you before I started reading?) I know many ladies who are having babies now, so it would be nice to be able to do something for them :) These all look lovely :)

So cute !! I found some cute patterns and made them and I think they were a hit. Changing pad that rolls up pretty good and stick it in your purse, mini binky blanket, and a blanket made of minky farbic. So soffftt !!

Love those!
I've been giving sets lately: tag blanket with baby's name embroidered, initial appliqued onesie, matching burp cloths, paci with vinyl initial. If it is a boy, I will sometimes also make peepee teepees for fun or a onesie with a tie appliqued on.

YAY!!! i love all my baby stuff you sent! I have had people ask where i got my Nursing cover and i proudly say "My Sister-In-Law made it!" but i love to give electric "Nose Suckers" Titus doesn't mind it AND it plays music.

I am the Queen of the rag quilt. If I buy my fabric at the right time I can get it down to $4.50 for a homemade blanket. The cutting is a little tedious but doesn't take more than half an hour. I've got the sewing down to 40 minutes (that's my record!) So two hours + $4.50= Great baby gift!

Love the pocket you put on your wipes case! These are beautiful. I made a car seat tent for my friend and she uses every day! They are such great gifts!

Love the diaper wallet! I have a lot of kids, so I try not to lug around an entire diaper bag where ever I go, and just use one of those. :)

Very cute ideas!

I make these gifts as well and they are always a hit! I love the fabric choices and the extra pocket for the diaper cream!!

I also like to embellish onesies and burp clothes (cloth diapers). Ribbon pacifier clips are also a favorite of mine.
