Knott's Berry Farm: Boardwalk Expansion and Timber Mountain Log Ride Renovation

Knott's Berry Farm is going through some very exciting changes and expansions right now
that are due to open for the Summer of 2013.
On May 30th the new Boardwalk - including three new family friendly rides -
will be ready for Knott's Berry Farm fans of any age to enjoy.

The new Boardwalk expansion will create the ambience of strolling
down a colorful California Boardwalk fun zone with amusements, games,
and fun food offerings.
I'm especially excited about the twinkle lights!
There is something so magical about being under the twinkle lights in the evening.

Last week I had the chance to take a hard hat tour of the expansion.
Let me tell you - it is going to be awesome!

The three new rides coming to the Knott's Boardwalk expansion are:
  • Pacific Scrambler - a spinning family favorite that is a traditional Boardwalk attraction.
  • Coast Rider - 1,339 feet of track fill with hairpin turns, twists and spins that gives guests the feeling of riding along the California Coast.
  • Surfside Glider - these two-man aircrafts zip through the air giving the riders a bird's eye view of the Boardwalk.

It was exciting to get a behind the scenes peek at all the amazing work that
is going in to this fantastic expansion to Knott's Berry Farm.
Even Snoopy came out in his hard hat to help!

It was amazing to see the roller coaster being put together and
to know that in the next couple of weeks they'll put the cars on and
start testing them!
It was kind of like being in an episode of How It's Made.

Check out this time lapse video of all the progress!

In addition to the Boardwalk expansion, a long time favorite Knott's ride
is getting a complete renovation.
The Timber Mountain Log Ride - one of the oldest flume rides in the country -
has been undergoing a multi-million dollar refurbishment that began in January of this year.

I remember coming from Las Vegas as a kid in the 80's for family vacation
and loving the chance to ride the Log Ride with my Dad.
I'm super excited to see the new animatronic figures and animated props
that Garner Holt Productions is creating for this amazing revitalization project.

The Timber Mountain Log Ride remains the most popular ride in the park
and surpasses all of Knott's other attractions in ridership.
I can only imagine that this renovation will increase the ride's popularity,
and will continue to be one of the iconic experiences of Knott's Berry Farm.

My family is super excited about the new additions and renovations that
Knott's Berry Farm is undergoing right now -
JT has even become a walking advertisement by wearing my
hard hat all around town in anticipation.

Thanks Knott's Berry Farm and Snoopy for a sneak peek at all the fun
that is coming to Knott's this summer!
I can't wait for May 30th!
Disclosure: I was invited to Knott's Berry Farm  a VIP hard hat tour. I blogged about it because
I wanted to and not because Snoopy & the Gang told me I had to. All the thoughts & opinions are mine.

We are going in June with Brian's family. I am excited that all this will be open by then! Hopefully it doesn't make it more crowded though :/
