that kept him at work 80+ hours a week from January to March,
I was always looking for quick and easy meals that the kids would like.
One of their favorites is the tried and true grilled cheese sandwich.
Well, sometimes I wanted something a bit more grown up when the kids
just wanted grilled cheese and that's how the Grilled Monte Cristo was born!
You start with some high quality bread - like the new Oroweat Organic breads.
Then, add in some Havarti cheese, deli sliced ham and turkey, and your favorite jam
and grill it on a your panini grill or George Foreman grill - in my case.
It comes out so delicious and full of flavor - just like a monte cristo sandwich!
I prefer a good blackberry or boysenberry jam, but any good jam will work.
I spread a thin layer on the inside of one piece of bread and then keep the jar
handy so that I can add a dollop on my plate for dipping.
The new Oroweat Organic breads are made with organic ingredients and whole grains.
They are available in 100% Whole Wheat and Grain and Seeds varieties,
as well as the Premium White - which is what I chose.
I would have tried the 100% Whole Wheat, because I try to keep white bread
out of the house because it disappears too quickly, but my local grocery store was
out of it. Although I'd probably like the Grain & Seeds, my family won't
eat any bread that has "chunks" in it - as my daughter likes to put it.
If you'd like to try to create your ultimate sandwich with the new
Oroweat Organic breads, then you're in luck!
Today I'm giving away three coupons, each valid for a free loaf of
Oroweat Organic bread and a $25 Visa gift card to purchase the ingredients
for your ultimate sandwich recipe!
