Gourmet Food Trucks at the OC Food Truck Fare

If you are an Orange County foodie and food truck fanatic, then you have to check out
Food Truck Fare at the OC Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa. Every week (except for a short
hiatus during the OC Fair) three or four gourmet food trucks park at the fairgrounds
and give foodies their fill of delicious and unique food options. The kids and I had the
opportunity to experience Food Truck Fare before the OC Fair came to town this
summer and it was a delicious and belly-filling experience.

We started at The Grilled Cheese Truck and they had an extensive and yummy looking
menu. We decided to share The Cheesy Mac & Rib (aka #FullyLoaded) with a side
of tots with a garlic aioli dipping sauce. This melt combines sharp cheddar cheese with
house smoked BBQ pork, Southern macaroni and cheese, and caramelized onions on
french bread. It was divine. This was Grace's favorite. She just kept saying,
"Mmmm. Yummy!" as she ate. It was really cute.

Next, the nice people at Stuff N It Burgers served us up their Texan Burger and
the Mexican Fries. Now, if I had seen the size of these two menu items before I
ordered them, I might have brought my entire Southern Californian family with me to
help eat them because they were enormous!

The Texan Burger is 100% Angus beef topped with cheese, bacon, french fried onions,
and BBQ sauce with a side of fries. This was JT's favorite and it was hard to get a bite
in before he devoured it, but I managed to get one and it was delicious. The burger was
cooked medium-well, just like I asked, and the combination of BBQ sauce and
french fried onions was very palate pleasing.

Now, just look at these Mexican Fries. The pictures doesn't even do them justice
because you can't tell just how completely ginormous they were. Golden fries are topped
with nacho cheese sauce, carne asada, pico de gallo, queso fresco, jalapenos, and
StuffNIt sauce. We barely put a dent in them, so we took them home to share with
Daddy when he got home from work.

Our last stop was to the Waffle-icious truck for something sweet and delicious. I wasn't
going to order a savory waffle sandwich until I saw that they had one called
The Full Monte. I couldn't resist. So, we ordered The Full Monte, the Fluffernutter with
bananas, and JT ordered a scoop of strawberry ice cream.

Mama! The Full Monte was out of this world amazing! It was like a Monte Cristo
sandwich, but with the addition of turkey and cheddar to the black forest ham and
havarti cheese of the Monte Cristo. It is sandwiched between a crispy Liege waffle that
is lightly dusted with powdered sugar and served with a side of raspberry preserves.

So, once the OC Fair leaves town, be sure to head to the Food Truck Fare at the
Fairgrounds for either dinner on Wednesdays or lunch on Thursdays and taste all
the gourmet food truck line up has to offer. If you want to know which trucks
are scheduled before you go, then check out the OC Fair and Events website
for a full schedule.

You can keep up with the food trucks above through their various social
media channels listed below!
