Odysseo by Cavalia Mother-Daughter Date Show Review

When I told Isabella that Odysseo by Cavalia was returning to Irvine for the holidays

she was so excited! She knew this meant that it was her turn to experience the amazing

equestrian arts show. She was sad to miss it last time and any reason to wear a new

dress and her ankle boots makes her 7-year-old day!

The show is visually stunning. It features 65 horses of 11 different breeds. There are

45 artists in the show as riders, acrobats, aerialists, dancers, and musicians. 

The entire show takes place inside a 17,500 square foot stage complete with a 

three-story tall hill. This amazing space required 10,000 tons of rock, earth and sand

to be trucked in and sculpted into a vast space where humans and horses could

play together.

She loved all the beautiful paintings inside the venue. So we had a to snap a few pictures
with them before the show started. There were also concessions and a gift shop where
you can purchase a show program and other equestrian themed books, stuffed animals,
and memorabilia. You can also purchase a program before you enter from the funny guy
in the top hat outside the big white tent.

The second half of the show was just as amazing as the first half. I just can't believe

what the artists and the horses are able to do together. You can tell that they trust

one another, because some of the stunts seem impossible! The costumes are gorgeous
too! There are 350 costumes and 100 pairs of a show in the show. An artist
could have up to seven different costumes during the show and maybe no more than 30
seconds for costume changes between the numbers.

It's all just so amazing! I love that the music was live and that the musicians were perched

up in the "trees" on the sides of the stage. It all just comes together to create a one

of a kind experience that you won't soon forget.

When I asked Isabella for one word that described Odysseo she 

exclaimed, "Spectacular!" I would have to agree with her. It's like nothing you've

ever seen before. Isabella seems to be just the right age for the show. Grace

wanted to come, but I think the length of the show would be hard for anyone

much younger than seven or eight-years-old.
