Have a BERRY YUMMY Time at the Knott's Berry Farm #BoysenberryFestival

Disclosure: I was invited as media and received complimentary admission and food tastings. All opinions are my own.

It's spring time again and that means that my very favorite time of year has
me some boysenberries, so to have a 23 day festival dedicated to this
scrumptious berry is heaven on earth! We were recently invited to check out
the 2017 Boysenberry Festival and discover all that it has to offer this year.

{THE BOYSENBERRY FESTIVAL TASTING CARD}
If you've never been to the Boysenberry Festival (how sad for you!) then a
great place to start is with the Boysenberry Festival Tasting Card. For $25
it's a fabulous deal and you'll get to taste SIX YUMMY boysenberry dishes
that will convert you to the deliciousness of this scrumptious berry.

Which items are on the tasting card? It varies from year to year, but
I guarantee that they are all delicious! Let's explore this year's items
and I'll share with you which one was my favorite!!!

{1} BOYSENBERRY BBQ MEATBALLS
First up are the meatballs! You can't got wrong with these yummy
meatballs that are slathered in Boysenberry BBQ sauce. I like that they
come on a stick so that you can eat them without getting totally covered
in BBQ sauce. They are delicious and are loved by my entire family.

{2} BOYSENBERRY FRY BREAD
This is one of the new items debuting at the festival in 2017 and it is amazing.
Isabella, my eight-year-old, was crazy for it and talked about how delicious it
was for days afterward. She loved the combination of boysenberry with Nutella
and tried to get her brother and her dad to give her theirs. If you're a fan of the
Fun Bun, then you will definitely love the fry bread.

{3} BOYSENBERRY BUFFALO WINGS
Mmm . . .mmm! I love me some wings!  The boysenberry BBQ sauce puts them
over the top and you will be licking your fingers cleans - literally. Just like
regular wings, these are MESSY! But the boysenberry BBQ sauce makes it all
worth it. This is another one that everyone in the family loves.

{4} BOYSENBERRY RAVIOLI
This is another new item debuting at the festival in 2017. It is a boysenberry
flavored pasta that is filled with boysenberry cheese and drenched in a
boysenberry cream sauce and then topped with diced tomatoes. I thought it
was yummy, but the rest of the family could take it or leave it.

{5} BOYSENBERRY PANNA COTTA
This boysenberry custard was a big hit with Grace! She couldn't get enough of
it and tried stealing it from me before she was even finished with her own.
It's topped with a granola crumble, boysenberry sauce and whipped cream.

{6} BOYSENBERRY PIZZA
You had me at pizza . . . or was it boysenberry? I can't be sure! But this new
savory item to the boysenberry festival menu was a big hit with me. It has a
boysenberry cream cheese sauce and is topped with carmelized onions, arugula,
goat cheese, Black Forest ham, sliced almonds and a drizzle of Boysenberry
Sriracha. All the flavors combine perfectly for a savory boysenberry party in
your mouth!

Can you believe you get all of that for $25? And they are very generous portions.
About halfway through our card we had to tap out and take a little break from
eating because we were so stuffed!

Some of the other yummy foods you won't want to miss during the Boysenberry
Festival are:

{CHOCOLATE COVERED
BOYSENBERRY CHEESECAKE ON A STICK}
The name is a mouthful and so is the cheesecake! It was Isabella's absolute
favorite and I have to admit it was pretty delicious. Plus, it was fun to watch
them dip it in the chocolate fountain while we waited!

{THE FUN BUN!}
I know this one is on everyone's list to try and it won't disappoint. It's a
cinnamon roll, dipped in funnel cake batter, fried up and then topped with
boysenberry cream cheese frosting. You can honestly share it between 4-5 people
and still leave stuffed, so it's best not to try and go it alone!

{DEEP FRIED ALLIGATOR AND FRIES WITH BOYSENBERRY AIOLI}
If you're going to splurge and get one savory dish that isn't on the tasting card,
then it has to be the Deep Fried Alligator with Boysenberry Aioli. It is worth
every penny and every calorie.

{BOYSENBERRY FRAPPUCCINO}
This yummy concoction isn't your typical frap and you can only get it at the
Starbucks outside of Knott's Berry Farm and inside at the Gourmet Coffee Hut.
It's pricey because they use a combinations of syrups to make this drink, but it's
yummy and a fun treat to try that you can't get anywhere else.

And while you're there don't forget to . . .

{BUY A BOYSENBERRY PLANT}
If you have a green thumb and want to try growing your own boysenberries at
home, then be sure to pick up your very own boysenberry plant. I bought one
last year and it was so fun to see the plant bloom and produce berries! I hope
that it blooms again this year so I can enjoy the berries again.

{VISIT THE EASTER BEAGLE}
When you're there for the Boysenberry Festival, make sure you don't leave
without finding the Easter Beagle. He's adorable and it's the perfect picture
for the spring season!

{TAKE HOME YUMMY BOYSENBERRY TREATS}
There are so many yummy boysenberry treats that you can take home and enjoy
to keep the boysenberry festival going at home. Be sure to stop at the
Marketplace and pick some of them up before you go home! May I suggest the
Boysenberry Popcorn, Boysenberry Cotton Candy, and Boysenberry BBQ Sauce!

{YOU'LL KNOW YOU'VE DONE THE
BOYSENBERRY FESTIVAL RIGHT}
If at the end of the day, you are passed out in a stroller, your face covered in
Boysenberry BBQ Sauce, with meatballs in your belly, then you'll know you've
done the Knott's Berry Farm Boysenberry Festival right!

I just had to comment on all of the Boysenberry food ideas. I went there so long ago you would believe it. I fell in love with Boysenberry syrup and brought tons of it home and put it on everything. Your story reminded me of that time.
Thanks for the memories,
Bev
