SPOOKY Family Fun at Knott's Spooky Farm 2018 #SpookyFarm

Disclosure: We were invited as members of the media to experience Knott's Spooky Farm. All opinions are our own.

It's time once again for the kid-inspired Knott's Spooky Farm celebration at Knott's Berry Farm. This family friendly Halloween celebration takes place during daytime weekends in October 2018 and Halloween day. This spooky (not scary) celebration features activities for kids ages 3-11 - like trick-or-treating through Ghost Town, live shows and a costume contest. One year we won the costume contest with our Peanuts costumes. It is so much fun!

{THE CANDY}
If your kids are like mine, this is what motivates their day at Spooky Farm - get all the candy! As you enter the park the kids get a fun bag for collecting their yummy treats and then you are free to hit up all the treat stops in Ghost Town to collect your booty. They had a really great mix of candy this year and my kids loved it! The best part is that it's included in your Knott's admission price!

{THE SPOOKY CHARACTERS}
I love all the fun and friendly citizens of Calico that are out and about all throughout Ghost Town. They'll measure you for a coffin, stop for an afternoon chat, and maybe do a magic trick or two. They are kind, helpful and hilarious!

I could spend the entire day gabbing with each character and checking out what kind of shenanigans they are up to. They all have great stories to tell and all of my kids love chatting with them,

{CREEPY CRITTERS OF CALICO}
The Livery Stable has once again been transformed by Stanley Scarecrow and his buddies into the Creepy Critters of Calico! Here you can get up close and personal with spiders, snakes, and all other manner of creepy critters. The kids all loved it! You need to check out my Facebook Live video from last year and see all the cool things we saw!

{HALLOWEEN HOOTENANNY}
The Timber Mountain Log Ride has been mystically converted into the Halloween Hootenanny!!! The mysterious creatures that live out in the woods and caverns of Calico are invited to join the citizens of Calico to celebrate the season at the Halloween Hootenanny. You'll see the Calico Coffin Creeper Band, the town's green witch, and splash down Skull Mountain through a labyrinth of jack-o-lanterns. Grace was thrilled that she is (still) tall enough to ride with her big brother and sister.

{GHOST TOWN PUMPKIN PATCH}
You can decorate your very own pumpkin the Ghost Town Pumpkin Patch in Calico Town Square. For a nominal fee the kids can create their own spooky (or cute!) jack-o-lantern as a memento of their fun day at Knott's Spooky Farm or decorate a cookie.

There is also free coloring sheets and fun photo opps too!

{CAMP SNOOPY WITH THE PEANUTS GANG}
Or as I like to call it during this time of year - CAMP SPOOKY! It is all decked out from head to toe in cute and spooky decorations! It is probably my most favorite spot in the park - especially since they have even decorated the grounds around the waterfall! I just love it! While you're there be sure to visit The Grand Sierra Railroad and take a ride on "A Trip to Camp Spooky"! It's super cute and totally in the Halloween spirit.

You will also find your favorite Peanuts characters decked out in their Halloween costumes and be able to snap a few pictures with them in the meet and greet area. Plus, stop by the Campy Snoopy Theatre for the Peanuts Costume Contest (we won one year!) and then join the Peanuts characters in a dance party!!! While you're there, you'll also want to watch the Peanuts gang in The Monsters Are Coming, Charlie Brown! You'll be dancing and singing along with your favorite Halloween tunes.

{HIT ALL THE PHOTO OPPS}
There are so many great photo opps at Spooky Farm this year! My girls both loved the wings! You also have to see the pumpkin fountain near Johny Rockets and don't miss the beautiful pumpkins over near the Mystery Lodge waterfall.

{MAKE THE MOST OF KNOTT'S SPOOKY FARM}
I often get asked by friends how they can make their visit to Knott's Berry Farm the very best because they want to get the most out of their visit. So, I've got a few tips to help you have the best time during Spooky Farm so you enjoy all that it has to offer during the Halloween season.

ARRIVE EARLY
During Knott's Spooky Farm the park opens at 9:00am. I suggest arriving at the park by 8:30 to get yourself parked and in line so you can hit up your favorite rides first thing in the morning. We always swing right as we enter the park and hit up Sidewinder and Camp Snoopy and JT rushes over to Silver Bullet so we can get on some of our favorites before it gets busy.

MAKE A PLAN
You can access a map and a daily schedule online and they'll have them when you get to the park. These make it easy to plan out what shows and attractions you want to make sure you don't miss.

FAST LANE PASSES
Since Knott's Spooky Farm takes place on the weekend the park will be busy. If you're out to make the most of your riding experience, you may want to consider Fast Lane Passes. We have had them several times over the years and they are awesome! We got to ride the Halloween Hootenanny three times this time because we had Fast Lane Passes! The price varies depending on the date of your visit, so be sure to check into before you go.

BECOME A SEASON PASS HOLDER
I loved being a season pass holder because we could come whenever we wanted and leave whenever we wanted. The 2019 Season Pass price is only slightly more than the cost of a day's admission, so I highly recommend it if you want the most bang for your buck.

With a 2019 Season Pass you will get to enjoy all of the Seasons of Fun next year but will also receive one free admission to use in 2018. You can get your Season Pass now at the Best Offer of the Year! Regular passes are just $95 or eleven easy payments of $7.50 and Gold Season Passes are $115 or eleven payments of just $9. These offers end October 28, 2018. Applicable taxes and fees apply online. Payment plans are only available at knotts.com

Remember that Knott's Spooky Farm is only here weekends now through October 28th and on Halloween Day!!! Have a SPOOK-A-RIFIC time!!

Five Things You'll Want to See at Knott's Merry Farm 2017 #MerryFarm

Disclosure: I was invited to experience Knott's Merry Farm with my family. The opinions in this article are my own.

knotts merry farm

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year is here at Knott's Berry Farm now through through January 7, 2017! America's first theme park has gotten into the Christmas spirit and transformed into Knott's Merry Farm! There are park-wide lavish decorations, live entertainment, festive food, and a shopping wonderland! Let's countdown FIVE THINGS YOU'LL WANT TO SEE AT KNOTT'S MERRY FARM!

{1} THE ENTERTAINMENT
One of my favorite parts of Knott's Merry Farm is the amazing and festive ice show Merry Christmas, Snoopy! starring Snoopy and the gang. My whole family loves the show, but especially Grace adores it! It's always so fun to watch her reactions to this fantastic Christmas show! It plays at the Charles M. Schulz Theatre on select dates during Merry Farm. Be sure to check the daily schedule to see if it's playing during your visit!

On the Calico Mine Stage guests can enjoy the live show It's the Merriest Christmas Show Ever, Charlie Brown! If you pop over to The Camp Snoopy Theater you can enjoy the Peanuts Gang in A Peanuts Guide to Christmas and sing along with a mash-up of favorite holiday tunes! And if you're craving a classic then be sure to visit the historic Bird Cage Theatre to enjoy performances of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and O. Henry's A Gift of the Magi.

At the recently added Calico Park you can join in the excitement of the tree lighting ceremony. I love the giant Christmas tree! It is beautiful and humongous and makes for a fabulous photo opp! The Calico Bell Choir and Citizens of Calico join together as Dr. Carter tests his newest electrical Christmas invention.

And who says it doesn't snow in Orange County? Well, Knott's Merry Farm makes all my midwest girl dreams come true with the nightly Snow and Glow Show! Every night thousands of sparkling lights dance to the beat of Christmas music while snow gently falls over the paths in Ghost Town's Main Street and School House Road. It really is magical!!!

{2} THE CLAUS' - MR. AND MRS.
You'll also want to pop over to Santa's Christmas Cabin to visit with Santa! The Wilderness Dance Hall in Ghost Town is transformed into Santa's Christmas Cabin during the Christmas season.

Not only can you visit with The Big Guy, but you can taste Santa's homemade cookies, delicious pastries and my favorite - fresh roasted nuts! This year there are also hand-made chicken and beef tamales!!! I really could just hang out in Santa's Christmas Cabin the entire day. It smells so good and the decor is so festive! I even saw peppermint cotton candy for sale! You can even purchase a special photo of the occasion to send to family and loved ones!

Mrs. Claus isn't letting Santa have all the fun this year. She's opened up Mrs. Claus' Kitchen and left her trusty bakers in charge. For a nominal fee, kids can decorate one of Mrs. Claus' delicious cookies.

Check out that size of the gingerbread girl cookie! And it was delicious too!

{3} THE HOLIDAY FOOD
In addition to all the yummy food at Santa's Christmas Cabin, there are yummy holiday treats to be found throughout the park. We had to have the Candy Cane Holiday Churro from the Gourmet Churro Factory. It was almost too pretty to eat . . . but we powered through! On our next visit I need to try the Santa's Milk and Cookies Shake from Grizzly Creek or Coasters. And the Holiday Pizza from Hollywood Hits sounds like it something I would love. It is topped with sliced turkey, stuffing, turkey gravy and sweet cranberry sauce. Wow!

{4} THE HOLIDAY SHOPPING
Don't worry if you haven't finished all your Christmas shopping because there are so many unique and one of a kind gifts to be found in Knott's Christmas Crafts Village! Ghost Town has been transformed into a shopping wonderland filled with dozens of local artisans. I especially love watching the chainsaw wood carving demonstrations!

{5} THE CHRISTMAS DECOR
I love all the Christmas decorations everywhere - especially in Ghost Town. It makes me feel all the magic of the holiday season and get in the mood for Christmas! I love just walking around and looking at all the beautiful poinsettias, lights, and sparkly ornaments! If you're just not feeling the holiday mojo this year, I guarantee that walk down Main Street will get you in the mood for some serious holiday cheer!

Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet, Knott's Spooky Farm is Hard to Beat!!! #KnottsSpookyFarm

Disclosure: We were invited as members of the media to experience Knott's Spooky Farm. All opinions are our own.

If you've been anxiously awaiting the return of Knott's Spooky Farm like we have, then your wait is over! It's Knott's Spooky Farm time, y'all! Unlike it's more sinister cousin that takes over Knott's Berry Farm at night during this time of year, Knott's Spooky Farm is a kid-inspired SPOOKY celebration during weekends in October and Halloween day. This family friendly Halloween celebration features activities for kids ages 3-11 - like trick-or-treating through Ghost Town, live shows and a costume contest. One year we won the costume contest with our Peanuts costumes. It is so much fun! There are new and exciting things at Knott's Spooky Farm this year, so let's take a tour through a day at Spooky Farm and show you what it's all about!

{THE CANDY}
Ok, let's get down to it, yes, there is candy at Knott's Spooky Farm! If your kids are like mine, this is what motivates their day at Spooky Farm - get all the candy! As you enter the park the kids get a fun bag for collecting their yummy treats and then you are free to hit up all the treat stops in Ghost Town to collect your booty. I love the cute doors at each stop and that they all have fun and spooky doorbell noises!

{THE SPOOKY CHARACTERS}
Just like during Ghost Town Alive! this summer, the fun and friendly citizens of Calico are out and about all throughout Ghost Town. They'll measure you for a coffin, stop for an afternoon chat, and maybe if do a magic trick or two. They are kind, helpful and hilarious!

I could spend the entire day gabbing with each character and checking out what kind of shenanigans they are up to. I love that even my little Grace wants to greet each character to find out what they have to tell her about what's going on in Calico.

{CREEPY CRITTERS OF CALICO}
New this year, the Livery Stable has been transformed by Stanley Scarecrow and his buddies into the Creepy Critters of Calico! Here you can get up close and personal with spiders, snakes, and all other manner of creepy critters. The kids all loved it! You need to check out my Facebook Live video and see all the cool things we saw!

{THE GHASTLY GALLERY}
This year the Boardwalk Ballroom has been turned into The Ghastly Gallery presented by KIT KAT®. There are two opportunities for fun as you can catch a live show starring some of your favorite Peanuts characters or give your little ghouls the opportunity to draw their be "monsterpiece". I suggest you go early to get a good seat! It fills up quickly and we were turned away twice because it was already full!

{HALLOWEEN HOOTENANNY}
One of my favorite things about Knott's Spooky Farm this year is that the Timber Mountain Log Ride was mystically converted into the Halloween Hootenanny!!! I was so excited that Grace was tall enough this season and we all got to experience the ride together!

{GHOST TOWN PUMPKIN PATCH}
You can decorate your very own pumpkin the Ghost Town Pumpkin Patch in Calico Town Square. For a nominal fee the kids can create their own spooky (or cute!) jack-o-lantern as a memento of their fun day at Knott's Spooky Farm. Be sure to take advantage of the fun photo opp too!

{DIA DE LOS MUERTOS CELEBRATION}
Fiesta Village is decked out and celebrating El Dia De Los Muertos all month long. This interactive, non-scary, educational celebration offers a walk through a village filled with photo opps, educational activities and face painting at a nominal fee. This was Isabella's favorite part of Knott's Spooky Farm. She loved all the decorations and opportunities to learn more about this cultural celebration.

{CAMP SNOOPY WITH THE PEANUTS GANG}
Or as I like to call it during this time of year - CAMP SPOOKY! It is all decked out from head to toe in cute and spooky decorations! It is probably my most favorite spot in the park - especially since they have even decorated the grounds around the waterfall! I just love it! While you're there be sure to visit The Grand Sierra Railroad and take a ride on "A Trip to Camp Spooky" presented by REESE'S! It's super cute and totally in the Halloween spirit.

You will also find your favorite Peanuts characters decked out in their Halloween costumes and be able to snap a few pictures with them in the meet and greet area. Plus, stop by the Campy Snoopy Theatre presented by HERSHEY'S for the Peanuts Costume Contest (we won one year!) and then join the Peanuts characters in a dance party!!! While you're there, you'll also want to watch the Peanuts gang in The Monsters Are Coming, Charlie Brown! You'll be dancing and singing along with your favorite Halloween tunes.

{THE SPOOKY TREATS ANDN EATS}
If there is one thing that Knott's Berry Farm always does right, it's their seasonal food offerings. They are always delicious, always fun, and always leave you wanting to come back again and again to enjoy them! Spooky Farm is no exception and you need to try the fun Halloween foods before they disappear!

We love our Knott's Berry Farm funnel cake, so we definitely had to check out the Gummy Nightmare Funnel Cake! It has Oreo cookies and gummy worms - so pretty much a kid's dream come true! You can only find it at Ghost Town Grub, so don't miss it!

Spookies and Cream Dippin' Dots are back and they are my favorite! As if cookies and cream isn't the best, the black and orange just puts it over the top.

You also will want to check out the Monster Burger at Ghost Town Grill, the Pumpkin Churro Sundae at the Churro Factory, and the Ice Cream Spookiewich at the Cave-Inn. Come hungry and don't forget to grab some napkins - you're going to need them!
