Baby Bloggy Boot Camp: What I Learned

Disclosure: This post is written by me on behalf of Liz Lange and Ergobaby.  Product was provided.

About a month ago, I had the opportunity to attend Baby Bloggy Boot Camp at the
Bahia Hotel down in San Diego. I've always wanted to attend a blog conference,
but the timing just never seems to work out or I get cold feet and don't register in time.

So, when I heard that the SITS Girls were hosting a mini-conference for moms and moms-to-be
in conjunction with their San Diego Bloggy Boot Camp and that there would be
amazing swag from two of my favorite companies - Ergo and Liz Lange Maternity -
I knew this could be the perfect opportunity to get my big toe wet when it comes to
blog conferences. Plus, being 36 weeks pregnant and having feet that swell to 5 times their
normal size when I sit for too long, this 3 hour mini-conference was ideal for my situation.

I enjoyed hearing from the Rookie Moms - Heather and Whitney - talk to us about
creating content that will be relevant to you - my readers. I especially appreciated
how they broke down blogging topics into categories and encouraged us to
brainstorm ideas for our own sites that would be connected to my voice and interesting
to my audience at the same time.

One of my favorite people to hear from was Tiffany Romero - one of the SITS Girls -
because she is down to earth, hilarious and true to herself. She encouraged us not to sell out.
I appreciate that. There is so much pressure to attend events and write reviews or
sponsored posts just to get money. However, Tiffany reminded us all to be true to ourselves
and be choosy about what we will write about. In essence, to know what we are worth.

Ergobaby was one of the fantastic sponsors of Baby Bloggy Boot Camp and
all of the attendees received the brand spanking new Ergo360.
This new four position carrier from Ergobaby now adds and front and side carry
option. When I heard this, I was like - WHAT? I thought front carry was a NO! NO!
However, the Ergobaby representative explained how the Ergo 360 has a special feature
that allows you to front carry, while still giving the proper ergonomical leg support
to keep your baby in the correct position.

Ergobaby also gave everyone the new Ergobaby Wrap. This wrap is made of a special
4D stretch material that holds it shape and doesn't stretch out with wear, so that by the end of
the day you're wearing the baby down by your knees.
It also promotes round spine, neck and head support, and frog leg position for baby.

My favorite Ergobaby product we received was the Swaddler!
It has cool arm pockets that secure the baby's arms and helps to replicate
the fetal arm position of "hands to heart." The hip positioner helps to keep the
baby's hips and legs in the correct, ergonomic "frog-leg" position.

Liz Lange gifted everyone one of their gorgeous maternity dresses.
I have worn Liz Lange almost exclusively during this pregnancy because it is
so figure flattering and is really well made for a great price.
I grabbed this gorgeous black and silver maxi dress.

The Honest Co. gave us a sample soap and lotion pack, diapers, and wipes.

I enjoyed the opportunity to learn about topics that can seem overwhelming - like SEO -
in such a relaxed, non-threatening setting. It was fun to meet other women that are
going through some of the same things I am going through - like balancing writing
and motherhood - and sharing with one another what has worked for each one of us.
I also appreciated hearing from the experts and being reminded that we all have to start
somewhere and to always be true to myself.
