TOO Cute Tuesday: Linky Par-Tay! #181

If you're blessed like me, you personally know Jaime from Polkadots On Parade.
I feel honored to call her friend. We've had lots of adventures together and
lots of laughs and amazing times.
But today Jaime was launched into a journey that is going to be hard and
not fun and not at all something that will bring many laughs.
She was the friend I was referring to that was diagnosed with breast cancer,
So, I'm asking, that if you're the praying kind, that you pray hard for my dear friend.
She needs the prayers and faith to sustain her through the biggest battle of her
SUNSHINE SHARING life.
She has been a light and ray of hope to so many, that I hope we can all
join together and give her back what she daily so willingly shares with others.

Now onto TOO Cute Tuesday!

What did you make this week that is TOO Cute??

Believe and Fight Like a Girl Printable: Breast Cancer Sucks

Yesterday I found out that one of my dearest and sweetest friends
has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
I was in shock and I couldn't believe it was true.
I wanted to be in denial and thought - "No, that doesn't happen to people I know, especially
to a best friend. Nope. It's not true."
She has two little kids - close in age to mine.
She is YOUNG. It's not true. Not true.

However, the truth is that 1 in 8 women in the U.S.
will develop breast cancer during their lifetime.
One in Eight.
I hate that she is the second friend that has joined the statistic.
The crazy thing, is a few weeks ago we sat at a breakfast hosted by Knott's Berry Farm
to kick off their partnership with Susan G. Komen Orange County
in the fight against breast cancer.

We listened to the stories of the survivors - including our friend Rebecca -
and shed tears over their struggles and cheers over their triumphs.
However, I still held it at arm's length - thinking, thank goodness we're healthy.

I admired the pink and thought what a great organization Susan G. Komen OC
was to give these women a sisterhood to band together in their time of need
for support and fortitude in their fight against breast cancer.

I watched the group of survivors ride Pony Express to celebrate their
survival, show their bravery, and enjoy life.
However, I still didn't think that in three weeks time a dear friend would
say to me, "I found a lump in my breast and I'm going to the doctor right now."
World rocked. Rose colored glasses shattered. Wind knocked out of me.

You can download your own 8x10 print by clicking HERE.

But it's true.
And she will join the ranks of the survivors and battle against breast cancer,
kick its butt, and give it the finger.
So, last night, when the hammer fell and she told me, "So, I have cancer" and
this CRAP became REAL, and I didn't know what to do with myself,
I sat down at Photoshop and created something for her.
Because being creative helps me to cope and gives me a purpose and keeps my mind
engaged so that it doesn't go to the crazy, dark places.

I hope it can be of some use to some of you, too.
Whether you're currently fighting the battle, the friend to a fighter, a survivor,
or maybe all of the above, I hope you can share it with someone you love.
Let's all give breast cancer the finger - because I just know my friend would approve ;) -
and fight like girls, cuz girls are mean and don't give up!
